# Quickstart

Go from sign-up to your first security posture report in about five minutes.

## Before you start

You need a work email address and access to the mailbox of the domain you want to scan. No credit card is required.

## Set up NextIT

1.  1

    Create your account

    Select Try Now and sign up with your work email address.

    Scan your domain

    Enter your domain. NextIT sends a confirmation email to prove that you own it.

    Read your posture report

    Get your overall score from 0 to 100, your tier and the vulnerabilities to fix first.

    Answer the compliance questions

    Follow your Law 25 controls and watch your compliance score change as you go.

5.  5

    Invite your team

    Add colleagues as User, Admin or Auditor. An Auditor gets read-only access.

## Your first hour, step by step

Follow these steps in order. Each step names the page or the card you need.

1.  1

    Sign up for your free trial

    Select the sign-up button on the NextIT website. The page reads “Start your free trial” and “30 days free, no credit card required”.

    Fill in the form with your work email, your company domain and your company details. Then select `Start Free Trial`.

    If your company domain already belongs to a company in NextIT, you ask to join that company, and an Admin approves you. A new domain creates your company, and you become its Admin.

    Verify your email

    On the `Check Your Email` page, open the email from NextIT. Select the verification link to activate your account.

    Confirm your details

    Your first sign-in opens the setup. The `Confirm` step shows what the domain scan found: your company, your email provider, your website hosting and your domain registrar.

    Check the details, then select `Continue`.

    Describe your team and your role

    Answer `How many people work at your company?` and `What's your role?`. Then go on to the next step.

    Choose your compliance frameworks

    NextIT selects frameworks for your sector and location. Answer `What matters most to you right now?`. Add details to `Tell us about your tools` if you want to.

    Select `Complete Setup`.

    Finish the setup

    The page `You're all set!` opens. Select `Continue to NextIT` to go on, or select `Not now — go to my dashboard`.

    Start your first assessment

    On the dashboard, select `Start Assessment` in the banner `Complete your compliance assessment`. Answer each question, then select `Complete Assessment`.

    Add your software

    Open the software inventory page, then select `Add software`. To load many tools at once, select `Import CSV` and choose your file.

    Add your domains

    Open the Domains page, then select `Add domain`. To load many domains at once, select `Import CSV` and choose your file.

     Invite your team

     Only an Admin can invite people. Select the `User Management` card on the dashboard. It opens `Access & Roles` in My Company.

     Select `Invite user`, enter the email address, the role and the language, then select `Send invitation`.

     Publish the data-request link

     Select the `Portability Requests` card on the dashboard. Select `Data Request Link`, then select `Copy`.

     Paste the link on your company website, so that people can send requests about their personal data.
